We all have a responsibility to protect children and young people from harm.
If you’re worried about the safety or welfare of a child or young person, call the National Child Protection Line 0800 022 3222 or visit the website: www.infoscotland.com/childprotection/index.jsp
There is a wealth of information on the Children 1st website for childcarers and parents.
The Children's Charter (pdf download)
The Charter sets out what children and young people need and expect to help protect them when they are in danger of being,or already have been, harmed by another person.
It has been developed, by Save the Children, through talking to children and young people who have experienced the need to be protected and supported - but what they are saying is how any child facing difficulties could expect to be treated.
The respose to the 13 statements from children is a set of 11 pledges and an outline of work to be done to help deliver on these.
The Framework for Standards (pdf download) is a follow-on document from the Children's Charter.
Glasgow City Council also has a Children's Charter as part of their child protection policy.
